My weekend just got shot in the foot :( I've got a miserable cold... not just sinus full out cold. All my plans for the weekend are wrecked now as I feel awful and won't go near friends or family to avoid giving this to anyone else. This totally sucks as I was looking forward to getting to work more on our fireplace with Rat. I know it could be worse, I could have the flu or something like that but I just hate this woolly head feeling. lol Okay I'll stop pouting now. Have a fun weekend everyone.

Have spent the last couple of hours in the Forum and found 2 great threads with full discussions going on in them. I read every post they where that interesting and even posted to them both, probably my first posts this year. lol It was a fine example to me that there is still much to learn and talk about around here and people with so many different ideas to get to know.



I'm sorry to have to stop and leave but duty calls, though I know I'm going back asap to see the new developments in these threads.

The funeral went off with a large crowd of both mourners and those just paying respects.





Several fire trucks where there, as well as every available police officer and sheriff's deputy, on duty and off along with many other EMS folks and a large crowd of just us regular joe citizens just happened to need to be there along the way too. Just showing our respects. Apparently they changed their minds about showing up in London today even though their website said they would be here.



This 20 year old soldier was killed, not in a battle but by a cowardly sniper who shot him while he and some other's were playing volleyball. Then these trashy faux religious jerks want to protest his funeral! Why? he wasn't even armed at the time of his death. What have they got to protest about him?



Funny thing is, I hear these "protesters" are actually lawyers with their families doing the protesting then when a community or any other group "infringes" on their rights they immediately sue. Is it really religious freedom, they're practicing or fraud?

They want to legislate beliefs, etc. - just not their beliefs, etc.

I thought it was freedom of speech and expression; what it is is an act of terrorism perpetrated by an extremist organization but I guess that is ok as long is it is non-violent.

I am glad you were out there for the family and friends of that soldier.

A 20 year old soldier from my hometown died in Afghanistan and has been brought home to be buried here tomorrow. Our local sheriff just posted on his facebook page that they've been informed that bunch of twisted idiots from that so called church, will be here to protest and wave their nasty signs during his funeral... Not in our town is all I can say and from the other posts on John's page I'm not the only one mad as hell over this.



Freedom of speech is one thing but what about people's right to bury their dead without being tortured, or isn't that illegal in the US?



They tried this once before standing across the street from the funeral home yelling their protest and waving their signs but unfortunately our city fire department was running a test drill that day and all their large trucks blocked their appearance. I suspect we'll need another drill tomorrow :)

--.-- And the young man had just gotten married a few months ago. Why should his bride have that added to her grief? His parents? That is just wrong. On a different day, different location is when they should have their protest. I hope the business, one being my CPA, will block these folks from using their property for this.



I will not bitch for a year about the city taxes if those fire trucks have to do that drill. Would donate if I could, just for that.

me too Rat and those businesses have refused them but they can stand on the sidewalks out front so I sure hope the firetrucks are there too. Heck I hope the motorcycle group is in town to park out front too.

There's a lot of folks seem upset about the limit on the Honor system but I'm thinking how smart it is actually. I'd like to tell each of them the following.



You're looking at this the wrong way, with a limit of 5 a day that gives you more incentive to check in day after day just to access your next turn to honor or dishonor folks :)



I'm waiting for my next go around right now and have some folks in mind already. During my time here there's been a lot of folks that have helped me and I'm trying to catch up with them as well as friends and even trying to return honor to folks who give it to me. lol So much to do so see lots of new reasons to come by every day.



He's a smart man and that's for sure.

I think the 5 a day is the only way some people wouldn't abuse it.



If the unused ones rolled over then people would just not do it until they had tons and drop it all on one person just to get them to the highest place.



With having 5 a day people have to really THINK about who deserves it.



I'm diggin the honor thing. It's pretty fun!

I agree with the 5 a day and I also think it was a good idea to fix it where you can't give honor to your self or anyone who lives with you but I also think that it should have been made where if you take honor from someone you should have the balls to say who you are if you have the guts to take it have the guts to say who you are.

How I see/use Honor:



- Besides giving it to friends here and getting it back, I've given it to people I don't even know; I've given it according to whatever I've read in their journals that has touched me in some way. Many of them are newbies who have few friends/honor.

- I will take honor away from friends/strangers here too, if I think that they are being assholes. Tough love. I can always give some honor back to them later on.

This weather is driving me crazy, one day near 60 degrees then next down in the teens and 20's.

I know...lol!

It should be cool and rainy here, and it's warm and dry instead. We never really lost any leaves from the trees here - everything is still looking like fall. We haven't gotten enough rain - or snow in the mountains. Kinda' scary...

The ice cream trucks are doing a brisk business too!
